From the Principal’s  Desk …..

The academic year 2015-16 ushered in one more evolutionary year with splendid

glimpses of  success,  N.K.E.S  continues  to  sustain  and  raise the bar in the field of education.

 We believe in a human resource development, which plays a very crucial role in the growth of the institution.  The Management has infused a lot of vigour and passion in its employees for developmental process.  Our continuous striving for improvement and innovation has contributed to our emergence as one of the leading educational institution recognized for its style of functioning.

Co-curricular activities 2015-16

 I wish to begin with our performance on the academic front. Achieving academic excellence is at the heart of our endeavor as educators.  Academic achievements reflect the ability to perform to the best of one’s capacity by developing the individual’s potentials and skills with diligence and ardour. We are happy to share the details of the commendable performances of our students.  Each scholastic year is unique in itself and the activities make it meaningful and memorable. The school reopened on 15th June 2016.

The reporting year was a landmark in the  history of the school. R.F.I.D(Radio Frequency Identity Card)system been introduced for the students and  teachers. The school has added one more floor to the existing building. The 3rd  floor premises were inaugurated in a well-attended Pooja ceremony on 25th of February.

Highlights of the year

 Various Co-Curricular Activities are held in this academic year to develop a child physically, morally, socially and mentally and to hone skills in co-scholastic areas.

The school magazine Nandadeepa is the window to the activities of the school students.  School magazine Enhances the knowledge and helps in developing  the budding writers.  The magazine also highlights the successes and achievements of students.  Offering a fascinating window to promising students talents, competitions like Essay, Elocution, Recitation and word building, Declamation, Debate etc. were held during year.  The creativity and uniqueness of the student were manifested during these competitions.



 “Nothing changes, until you change.   Everything changes, once you change.”

 Mental Ability Test for  students was held to  judge the power of reasoning, ability to think and judge evaluate or discriminate and the  ability to visualize in the space.


Sudoku Competition-Sudoku Competition  was held for the students of standard V to X enabling to increase  their mental gaiety,  caliber and speed.



Salad dressing- To make our children aware   of benefits of healthy food, a Salad Decoration competition was organized  For std. V to X The criteria for the judgment were presentation, colour scheme   Innovative theme and description of the

Rangoli-Students of Grade V to X  participated in the Rangoli making  competition with lot of interest. Students made a bright and beautiful rangoli designs by using geometric  shapes,floral motifs, natural colours ,flower petals, pluses and diyas were  used to decorate the rangolis


Best out of waste-I the modern world  where  People believe only in use and  throw. We at  N.K.E.S to underline the   principle of ‘Reduce Reuse and Recycle”.To inculcate this attitude among the students a   “Best out of waste”competition was organized, which not brought  out the creativity in them but also helped in reusing things which are thrown away as  waste . Beautiful articles which were attractive and also useful.

Card Making& Poster Making-Students  collected  materials available at the home and creatively  made beautiful greeting cards and posters with apt slogans.



 DRAWING COMPETITION-A drawing    competition were held for the students of standard V to VIII to hone their skills  in drawing and painting and also develop their  skills at a very young age.


Mehendi Competition-Mehendi  hold Great significance in Indian culture.It plays a crucial role in all  the ceremonies as well as festivals in India. Fresh styles as well as designs add glamour to mehendi as well as  make it more enjoyableto all eyes. A competition was held to encourage   this tradition.



Group and solo singing competition-Music is the best therapy and it increases self- esteem.It also strengthens concentration   and memory.To promote this idea  Group   and Solo Singing Competitions were   organized  for the students of std. V to X.


 Independence day  -  National festivals  are celebrated To inculcate patriotism and make the students feel Proud to be  Indians.


Ganesh Chaturthi-Ganesh utsav celebrations  were held in our school for five days. After  five days of Puja and bhajan, the idol was  immersed as per  traditional custom in our school playground in a eco-friendly manner.


Teachers’ day-In the memory of  Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishana  Teachers’ Day celebration was held in the school. Teachers were felicitated on this days. Children took charge over the school on the teacher’s day with great enthusiasm. The senior taught the juniors.


Visvesvaraya Day-To mark the birth     anniversary Sir. M.  Visvesvaraya,to impress students, the importance of scientific attitude and innovative ideas an intra school power point presentation  competition was conducted in which students participated enthusiastically.


Navrathri celebrations-Goddess  Durga, Laxmi,and Sarsawathi  Goddessof courage, wealth and  knowledge were  invoked during these  nine days by chanting Vedic Mantras  both by the students and teachers.  Sharda Pooja  was performed with  the chanting of the Vedic Mantras  and Lalitha Shasaranama by our staff and students. 

Republic Day-To bring about the patriotic   sentiment in the children Prabhat Pheri was  organized .Children paid homage to the  jawans  who laid down life for our country


To be a great champion, you must believe you are the best. If you are not, keep on trying.”Sports competitions inculcate the spirit of   challenges & sportsmanship among the  students and prepare them for the life ahead. Sports, Games and Physical Fitness occupy a place of importance  in our curriculum. Ourstudents actively  participated in different sports competitions and won medals,  certificates and trophies. Our students  not only excel academically, but also  on the field.  We at NKES believe in an all round personality development.  Along with the fitness of the mind, the fitness of the body is also put to the test. Mr. Santosh Misra and Mrs. Shakuntala Wagh are the guiding force behind the physical fitness of our students, also in their individual and group performance.


Student achievers

 Shahrukh Shirgaokar got Gold in district,Gold in Divisonal, and participated in national Level which was held at Jabalpur on 11th December,2015.   Shahrukh shirgaonkar also participated and won Gold  Medal in rope skipping in Divisonal Level and also bagged Gold medal in District Level and Played up to State Level.


Parihar karan bagged Silver Meda in District Level and participated U-19-60Kgs, and got Bronze Medal at the State level Squay Martial  which was conducted at Solapur.

Kabaddi N.K.E.S  Team won the District Level Kabaddi Match.

Athletics  n Yadav participated in Hammer throw and got Gold Medal, and bagged Bronze in Javelin throw.

3. K.m. walking Competition Priti Gowda bagged Gold  Mallika Patel awarded Silver Medal   Lovely Pathak got bronze Medal

Running Race Ankit Yadav of VIII B bagged Gold Medal in 800 mtr. Hurdle and Silver medal in 400 mtr. Race.

Long Jump Ajay Chauhan got Silver Medal

Picnic & Camps-The picnics during to  October 2015took us away from the urban Scenes brought us back recharged. Where as the study tour to Mahim Nature Park took the students to the wonders of the nature.  The camp was conducted  by the school for the std. IX student to Gholvad Near Gujarat Border.  The picnic were organized for Standard V to VIII to panoramic and Suraj water park.

Our Silver Jubilarians-Felicitations are the tokens of appreciation, compliments and joy shared. As per the prevailing practice, staff who completes 25 years of service with the institution are hailed with high esteem were honoured on the teachers’ Day.  This year this honour was bestowed upon Shri. Mane Ravi & Jadav Shivaji from the non teaching staff section.

Other Activities-

One India One People- One India One People Foundation is committed to make India a Great, Strong and United country, where every citizen is an Indian first A step ahead in this direction to reach out its message to One India One People club. the younger generation through activities, the foundation has comeup.

 DISASTER MANAGEMENT    Disaster Management is the creation of    plans through which communities reduce   vulnerability to hazards and cope with disaster.  Therefore, a seminar on Disaster  Management was conducted amongst our   students to make them aware of Disaster Management plans.

Eco club- is a platform which makes  students aware of conservation of environment and suggests ways to maintain ecological balance.  Under the guidance of teacher, club students have conducted special assemblies their motto is go green.


Scholastic & co-scholastic achievement-Excellence in academics is the hallmark of any good institution and class X  Result of the School prove without any doubt that our students have made us proud.  Students from Kannada Medium have participated in the inter school literary and cultural activities organized by Karnataka Sangha Matunga Bunt’s Association, Mysore Association.Kanara Vidyadayini  and Goregoan Karnataka Sangha

Science Exhibhition-  Ward Level Science Exhibition was held from 9th to 11th December 2015. N.K.E.S was awarded the 1st prize for the Teaching Aid in Mathematics presented by Smt. Nitina Shukla. 2nd prize  for Population Education presented by Smt.Suvarnalatha Salimath. “The quality of your thinking, determines the quality of your mind.”  Participation in the Maths, English ,  Olympiad, itself is the biggest competition where a student competes to outshine others. It infuses a healthy competitive spirit through reward based assessment.
