National Kannada  Education Society’s Junior College, Wadala, Mumbai is a part of NKES Group of Institutions which was established in the year  2011.The college offers regular Commerce course with IT at junior college level

. The focus of the college is not only on academics but also on overall development of the students. Since its inception, it has maintained its incessant momentum on the path of progress, both in academics and extracurricular activities.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Since its inception, NKES has built up an impressive reputation and record in both academics and sports.

A distinguishing feature of the college is that it produces excellent result.

In the HSC Examination out of 117students 113 students passed.

our students secured 92.58 % pass percentage

  • Co-Curricular Activities:

 

.To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talent of the students, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities. Competitions ‘

 

Inter collage competitions:Every year students participated in the events organised by various colleges in Mumbai and suburban areas. This year students from class XI & XII participated in the events like

  • ‘Kshitij’ organised by Mithibai College, Vile Parle.
  •  ‘Ehlaan’ organised by S.I.W.S College, Wadala
  •   ‘Indradhanush’ hosted by Patuk College, Santarcruz. 
  • ‘Raj-Nataz’ organised by S.N.D.T. College, Matunga.
  •  ‘INCIADO’ organised by N.K.E.S Degree College, Wadala by wining various prizes, proving that they are provided and equipped with all the amenities and support from the institution. 

 

 

Mehendi Competition:Students showcased their talent in Mehendi Competition which was held on 28th September with the objective to enhance its cultural importance and accept as a profession. It also foster creativity among the students.

Tatoo Competition: It was organised on 28th  September. Students participated enthusiastically.

 

Rangoli Competition: Rangoli Competition was conducted on 14th September their . Students created  beautiful Rangoli designs using geometric shapes,  floral motifs. Rangoli colours, flower petals and diyas were used to decorate the Rangolis.

 

Saree & Tie Day: Through this day studentsare made aware of the traditions and customs of Indian society and culture. It was enthusiastically celebrated by all student on 15th December.

 

Chocolate Day: It was Celebrated on 8thSeptember by students by exchanging and consuming various types of chocolate to enhance their friendship.

Traditional Day: To give respect to our tradition this day was celebrated in our college on 19th January which was based on the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’.

 

 

Navratri :It is celebrated in our college in honour of Goddess ‘Durga’. All teachers and  students attended the Navratri Celebration with colour code for nine days.  Dandiya Raas was arranged in the quadrangle of the college for the students.

Picnic: Students and Teachers went to ‘Wet-N-Joy’ water park, Lonavla on 8th December.  Through this event students and teachers got opportunities to bond with each other by giving break from their hectic schedule. It was a memorable picnic.

 

 

 

 

 

Sports: This year in Karate Competition The institution has always been taking initiatives to get the best talent in the sports arena. We have consolidated the sports activities on the weekends where the institution has tied up with professional coaches at national level for Cricket, Skating and Karate to coach our children. The sports program helps us in identifying talent in particular sports and give more exposure to the students. Some of our achievements are:

‘Harsh Chandaliya’ has won Bronze Medal at National Level in Martial Art.

   Adnan Shaikh added one more feather in our cap by winning DSO level event in shot put.  

Box Cricket Tournament (N.K.E.S Premier League):

Members  of Management Mr. Ananth Banawasi, Ms. Bhavani Chandrashekar, Principal Mrs. Saroja Rao and other faculty members inaugurated the Box Cricket event on 14th January. It was indeed a successful event. The championship trophy won by FYJC Commerce students.

Kabaddi: The Kabaddi tournament was inaugurated by Mr. ShasikantJoshi  by tossing the coin for the match. The basic motive to organize this event was to impart training to the players in basic skills of kabaddi. In the final match between Standard XI and XII, the Standard XI had to pull their nerves to beat the opponents the Standard XII in the finals.

Events like Shotput, Long jump and running were also organized on 16 Jan.There was a great response from the players.

Farewell:The farewell for the Standard XII was organized by the XI std students and teachers  on 8 February. It was an incredible event

Beginning of degree college is a new milestone in the annals of NKES group of Institution.

            The good work of the college has been possible with the cooperation of our highly qualified and dedicated faculty. Our thanks to the management committee of our institution for their able guidance and encouragement.
